ELVIS PERFORMANCE

Our residents enjoy many types of entertainers and last night we had the pleasure of watching Benjamin Lindemuth who is a new Elvis impersonator. He performed many of Elvis’ songs from the beginning of his career and also some of the more popular hits. The residents enjoyed watching him and we wish him the best with his future endeavors.

VOLUNTEERS

Betty Gigliotti and Alice Orsich, both members of Saints Cosmos and Damian church in Punxsutawney, have been coming to Christ The King for the past eight years visiting members of their parish. Their visits are not limited to SSCD members, though. They have developed many friendships over the years and each Wednesday you will find them visiting our residents, bringing conversation, laughter, and comfort when needed.

FIT-N-FUN

Every Wednesday morning in our activity center you will find our residents participating in “Fit-N-Fun” where many different physical activities are enjoyed – limited only by the imagination and creativity of the activities staff and the residents. Parachute, ball toss, wheel-chair flexersize, and much more coupled with jazzy music keep our residents on the move! Afterward there is always a good cup of coffee to wind down and wait for lunch.

HOME COOKED MEALS

The activities department held their first “Monthly Meal” in the new activity center on February 16. This tradition started several years ago when one of our residents asked for a “home cooked meal.” Since then we alternate A, C, and D wing each month and serve the residents a special meal. Suggestions for meal plans come from many places and they are always amazingly fun to prepare, serve, and enjoy, especially in our new activity center. This is one of our activity trials that endured as a favorite and the staff look forward to it as much as the residents.

VALENTINE'S DAY!

Our residents had a spectacular time during our Valentine's Day party. We had refreshments, door prizes, music, and most importantly, companionship. We crowned kings and queens from each wing, won by popular vote! Our next holiday, St. Patrick's day, we will have entertainment and green beer!

GROUNDHOG DAY 2012 !!

Punxsutawney Phil is very popular at CKM. Today we enjoyed Groundhog treats, Groundhog punch, Groundhog trivia, and later this afternoon we will watch the famous Groundhog Day movie. Phil predicted six more weeks of winter this morning but you would never guess that with the beautiful weather we have been having this year.!

TRI-COUNTY TROUBADOURS

The Tri-County Troubaours entertained our residents at CKM in December and will return on February 6 at 7:00 pm. They are members of Tri-County Church of God in DuBois and play a wide variety of music. Their talent is amazing! Pictured below are: Steve Clark, Gary Bowser, Denise Delp, and Denny Iorfida
