NEW ACTIVITY FACE

Amy Thomas has earned a place with activities due to her dedication at Christ The King.  Formally on the dietary staff, Amy has recently transferred to the Activities Department as a part-time aide.  Her main duty is visiting residents with our Activity Cart as she offers a variety of items such as greeting cards, books, pencils and pens, word search, jigsaw puzzles and more.  She is always open to other assignments but regardless of what she is doing our residents are always happy to see her smiling face!

VALENTINES DAY 2018

Valentine's Day and Ash Wednesday fell on the same day this year but since our residents are exempt from the traditional Lenten fasting and abstinence we had a full celebration, ashes and all!

RN Julie Kearney's niece Scarlet passed out Valentines to almost everyone at CKM on Valentine's Day. She is picture with her mother Jessica and Julie.

GROUNDHOG DAY 2018

One of our native Punxsutawney residents, Lou Blose, donated seven of the Groundhog Beanie Babies to help us celebrate Groundhog Day 2018.  The were passed out as door prizes to seven lucky residents but everyone enjoyed the spiced groundhog cookies!

MEMORIES FROM THE PAST

Richard Hiles and Helen McKendree have a treasured connection from their past.  The home Helen’s grandfather was born in was later purchased by Richard’s in-laws as a wedding gift to him and his wife, Jean, after Richard’s return from WWII. The home, located in Rathmel and originally known as the Fuller Mansion, continues to be kept in a state of restoration today.  Helen surprised him with a photograph of the home on his birthday.
