VALENTINE PARTY

Our annual Valentine's Day party is one of our most popular activities of the year.  We start early in February making old fashioned valentine boxes which are placed in our lounges for anyone and everyone to vote for the residents they want to be crowned King and Queen.  Our department plans a wonderful party with food, refreshments, prizes and most importantly the tally of the votes.  It is always a pleasure to watch the excitement of those who won.

The Calvary Boys, a quartet from West Decatur who sing older songs of faith,
shared their music us in February.

Monthly Meal for February

The activities department prepared  homemade lasagna, salad, garlic toast and a dessert of bread pudding for a group our residents in February. Along with coffee, punch, beautiful decorations and table settings it was enjoyed by all.

Valentine Serenade

Paul Stephenson performed a concert of familiar love songs to our residents in February.  He always holds a captive audience with many who love to sing along with him.

Craft projects for January and February

Our residents love being creative and with the help of the activities department and a lot of donated craft supplies they were able to create some lovely wheelchair decorations.

Groundhog Sundaes on Groundhog Day

The activities staff loves to work with themes and on Groundhog Day they served Groundhog Sundaes topped with Groundhog cookies brought in directly from Punxsutawney!  We are still waiting for the early spring Phil predicted that morning!

Very Special Valentines!

Jaynelle Horchen with her daughter Polly, and Kayla Clinton with her daughters Kendall and Kami, brought valentines for some very lucky residents.  As you can see in the pictures, children are greeted as very special guests at CKM!

Shepherd's Grace Chapel

We are thankful for all churches in our area who come to Christ The King on Sunday afternoons for our interfaith services.  We welcomed the choir of Shepherd's Grace Chapel in February, Greg Sands, pastor.  His wife Jean leads the choir.
