SPIRIT BOUND
Al and Karen Hewitt, owners of Advanced Furniture Solutions in DuBois, form an entertainment duet called Spirit Bound. They came to Christ The King in April and again on May 16 during National Nursing Home week. Their unique blend of gospel music, classic hits, and folk music, mixed with comedy and storytelling kept our residents attentive and laughing. We all certainly enjoyed them and look forward to seeing them soon.

MAKING WORK FUN
Bethany Hoover has fun taking Betty Connor for her daily walk! Yevonna Graham helps out pushing the wheelchair but Betty can go quite far before she needs to sit down!
FIRE SAFETY REVIEWED AT RESIDENT COUNCIL
Lee Haag, safety director at Christ The King, gave a
presentation during the April resident council meeting on fire safety. He reviewed our fire policy and informed the
council that staff at CKM are required to attend a “Fire Safety and Disaster
Preparedness” in service training session annually to ensure everyone is
educated in this area. In addition,
regular fire drills are held to ensure the procedure works well. Lee held a question and answer session
afterward. Mary Shaffer, president of
the resident council, concluded the session, stating “No resident should worry
if they don’t know what to do in case of a fire. All of the staff know exactly what to do and will take care of us if there is a fire.” Pictured are Lee
Haag, Mary Shaffer, and Justine Bowser, dietary manager.
