New Activity Room Project
On July 5, 2011 work began on the much anticipated activity room renovation project. Thanks to the generous support of the CKM Auxiliary and the approval of the Board of Directors, our residents will soon enjoy a newly renovated and expanded space to enjoy their activities. The newly designed activities room will be 2,802 square feet as compared to the previous 1,632 feet. It will include a media center, country kitchen, library and computer area, fireplace, and covered patio area. It will accommodate more residents which translates into more fun! The activities department at CKM is dedicated to planning and supervising activities with all the resident’s interests in mind. We are currently maintaining the activity program throughout the building until the completion date. It is a bit of an inconvenience but a small sacrifice to make when the outcome is so grand. In addition to the activity room, a new Beauty Shop is being designed using 424 square feet of existing space. Considering we currently accommodate up to six residents in a 169 square foot area, this increased space coupled with new and updated equipment will make the salon experience more pleasing and personal to each resident.
The expected completion date for the entire projest is in mid-November.
