PUMPKIN CARVING

What would Fall be without carving pumpkins? Very few of our resident want to dig out the seeds of our pumpkins, so kudos to those who did!  The staff wields the knives to make the faces. and nothing was wasted...insides and excess pumpkin fed some very appreciative chickens!   Soooooooooooooo much fun!

FALL LEAVES TOURS

Several bus loads of residents enjoyed a trip to Parker Dam to take in the beautiful works of nature as the leaves changed from green to the colors of fall.  This is the favorite time of year for many and although we have our own beautiful view at CKM, the bus trips include a stop for ice cream cones!

SEPTEMBER and OCTOBER STAFF GUESSING GAME

Stormy Green won our guessing game contest in September.  Her jar was filled with candy fruit slices.  Leslie Hess won for October.  She won a skull filled with candy corn.  Good luck to everyone next month!

NEW ENTERTAINMENT

Paul Stephenson, Singer/Guitarist provided new entertainment to residents in October performing a variety of oldies and gospel.  He really connected with our people, carring his guitar throughout the crowd and encouraging them to "sing-a-long."  He will be joining us again on December 10 at 10am so please  join us if you can!

PUZZLE QUEEN!

Eleanor Massey was never one to venture too far from her room....until she started to work on puzzles in the activities room!  Now, you can find her daily working on her latest choice.  It was one of her favorite past times and is very content spending hours in the activities room working on them.  Pictured below are a couple of her completions.

MONTHLY HOMEMADE MEALS

The summer months are so busy in the activities department with outdoor fun but beginning in November the staff prepares a homemade meal for twenty or so of our residents.  Every month until March they do this and rotate residents to be sure to include everyone who would like to attend.  November's meal featured Turkey along with mashed potatoes, stuffing, and all of the typical Thanksgiving meal fixings.  The guests "dished out" many complements before they left and the activities staff is already thinking about December's menu.

CHRISTMAS CACTUS

The Christmas Cactus is in full bloom in the activities blooms every year but this year seems to carry an abundance of blooms! The green thumbs that tend our garden carry on thru the winter taking care of this beauty!
