Alzheimer's Associaton's Second Annual Memory Walk

The second annual Memory Walk was held on September 19, 2009, in the DuBois City Park. There were about 150 people in attendance and Christ the King Manor has the largest team with almost 30 people! More than double the size of last years team. Amanda Choura, Billing Specialist and Charlene Volansky, Director of Development, served on the local advisory committee that met once a month since March to plan the walk. Christ the King held various fund raisers; a bake sale, jeans days and a lottery tree raffle to raise over $3,000 for the Alzheimer's Association. Walkers on our team also received individual sponsorships which helped us not only meet but exceed our goal. The total goal for the walk was $15,000 and over $26,000 was actually raised giving the DuBois Memory Walk the honor of being noted as a Star Walk by the Alzheimer's Association.
