If you were one of the many who took a double take at the
strange snow phenomenon in the yards of The Cottages in January, you saw
something rare and fun. We called them
many things – snow tubes, snow balls, snow holes, but he official name is “snow
rollers.” It has been over a decade
since our area has seen these because just the right conditions must be present
for Mother Nature to create them. A
combination of wet snow, strong wind, and just the right temperatures is required
to roll the snow into these spectacular hollow cylinders. If you missed them, here are some photos to
share.
