'MY FAVORITE LIFE STORY'
On display during National Nursing Home week was another beautiful collage of "life stories" obtained from our residents. The stories were written on tiny "books" and displayed on our B wing window for everyone to see.
Doyle Shepler…”Going barefoot all summer except for church!
After church we’d get in the car and the shoes would come off!”
Lois Webster..." I was a coal miners daughter and in our little mining community we were like one big family. It didn't matter what your nationality was, we all stuck together!"
Tony Rend…”As a child I had dreams of singing on stage and
the famous person whose song I was singing would walk up behind me and join me
in the song…in fact my dream came true for I was the opening act for many big
named artists.”
Jeanne Carberry…”When my Uncle Jack came to live with us, he
was more like a brother to me.”
Madeline Sawyer…”When Daddy got the cattle and helping him
on the farm.”
Ann Cekovsky…”When we all went to Disney World when the kids
were little. Also camping with the kids in the rain in a pup tent!”

GIANT COLLAGE
The theme for National Nursing Home Week was "Celebrating Life's Stories" and the residents had many activities planned that created a lot of memories. One of them was the creation of a collage of memories they cut out of magazines. It was a work love and creativity and became part of our "Arts and Antiques" show later that week. It is still hanging in the activity room so if you visit in this summer, stop and see it!

KEEPING BUSY!
ALL IN THE FAMILY
Brenda Mishler, daughter-in-law of one of our residents, Nancy Mishler, sings to a full house.
Brenda always draws a large crowd and our residents look forward to seeing her when she is here.

NEW ACTIVITY FACE
Amy Thomas has earned a place with activities due to her dedication at Christ The King. Formally on the dietary staff, Amy has recently transferred to the Activities Department as a part-time aide. Her main duty is visiting residents with our Activity Cart as she offers a variety of items such as greeting cards, books, pencils and pens, word search, jigsaw puzzles and more. She is always open to other assignments but regardless of what she is doing our residents are always happy to see her smiling face!
