ST. PATRICK'S DAY CELEBRATION

The Confirmation class of St. Mary’s Church in Reynoldsville celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with us. For most of the students this was their first visit to CKM but after an introduction and a little time they allowed themselves to have a great time with our residents. They brought along Country Pride band with them for entertainment, sang karaoke and also served refreshments and party favors. The residents LOVED it!

A BIRD STORY...

The residents and staff at Christ The King are diligent about feeding the birds all year long but especially in the winter. Many residents express daily concerns about the birds needing to be fed. When the frost and snow covers the ground and food is difficult to find we coat pinecones with peanut butter and birdseed. These natural bird feeders are hung on trees and bushes around the perimeter of the manor so our residents can witness the fruits of their labor from inside. Not only is this activity beneficial to our feathered friend community, it is therapeutic in many ways to our residents.

YARD SALE!

Residents at Christ The King can attend a “Yard Sale” once a month. Anything from jewelry, clothing, nick-knacks, perfume, stuffed animals, and much more can be found. And everything we have is collected from donations to the manor. We spread out the items on the tables in our Main Dining Room so the residents have good wheelchair access. Residents are given “Christ The King dollars” to make their purchases. For many of our residents this is the first thing they look for after the activity calendar is published. It is a fun, fun afternoon for everyone. Today we had students from DuBois Area Catholic School helping with the sale.
