CIRCLE GAMES ACTIVITY IS FUN FOR ALL!

Our activities department knows how to get people involved while having fun themselves!  Monday mornings will find residents in a large circle participating in numerous games that include physical activity, music, maybe adding a little trivia or other mentally stimulating activity, a refreshment, or whatever else comes their way. You can measure the fun by the tone of laughter and music.  There is something for everyone and for residents who can't participate in the "circle games", they are treated to massage therapy with aromatic lotion while enjoying the music and laughter.

Tonia Duttry and Robin Badger keep the balls rollin!

STAFF GUESSING GAME....

We skipped May due to all of the activities for Nursing Home week but June brought another fun guessing game for the staff.  In anticipation for the next game....GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!

Amanda Butler is the winner for June with a jar full of PEANUTS!

Allyssa Herren from the dietary department won April's jar full of GUM!!!

Kelly Cotton from the therapy department won a jar full of Jelly Bellies for the March guessing game contest.

ANOTHER FUN CRAFT DAY!

The welcoming of Spring was celebrated by making "Spring Trees" in the activities room.  Residents painstakingly glued silk flowers to an ordinary shrub branch. This was no small task for them as they all have some type of physical disability.  It proved to be a very therapeutic, relaxing and rewarding task especially when they saw their creation placed in a simple pot with some Spanish moss and violá... a lovely tree!

BABY CHICK THERAPY

Many of our residents remember having chicks on their farm or getting them for Easter.  One day in April Kim McMonagle brought her chicks in for a day.  The residents welcomed them with so much tenderness and joy she let them spend the night for another day of "Chick Therapy" !
