JEWELRY AUCTION

We receive a lot of donations at CKM and enjoy having monthly yard sales as a fun way for our residents to  "get the goods!"  In June we started a new way of giving our residents the fabulous jewelry that is donated.  We had our first "Jewelry Auction" where our residents could earn tickets to trade in for a piece of jewelry.  It was so fun and so successful we have another one scheduled for July.

Joan, Robin, and Tonia help Gloria Pounds pick out a ring.

Joan helps Doris Frantz try rings on for size.

Lois Leach and Tonia study the necklaces and bracelets.

Mary Goodrow and Robin have made a great selection!

Mary Lee Bennet helps her mother, Eleanor Jordan, try on a bracelet.

LOCAL GIRL SCOUT TROOP HELPS PLANT FLOWERS

Kelly Pontius, a three year employee in the nursing department, brought her Girl Scout troop to CKM to assist the residents planting flowers. They earned a badge while doing so and the flower boxes they planted in were built years ago as an Eagle Scout project. So this truly illustrates the personal and community benefits of scouting.  The residents had a great time watching the young girls hard at work.

401 NORTH 4TH STREET BAND

We welcomed new entertainment at Christ The King on June 11.  Frances Lingenfelter and the 401 North Fourth Street Band played and sang country music.  Great entertainment from some great folks!  We will look forward to their next visit.
