VOTING AT CKM

Voting has always been an important part of our residents' life at CKM and we are dedicated to helping our voting population in all requirements of obtaining an absentee ballot.  Kim McMonagle has assisted our residents with this for many years and is pictured below with Marty Kos who has been an absentee voter at CKM for 15 years!

DEACON BILL CELEBRATES 10TH ANNIVERSARY

Deacon Bill Wright, who has been with Christ The King for almost eight years, recently celebrated his 10th anniversary as a Deacon.  “I’ve spent most of my life working with young people as a teacher and a school principal.  Eight years ago Msgr. Mignot called me and asked me if I would consider doing pastoral ministry at CKM.  I told him I had never even thought about working with older people but I accepted the position and discovered I really like it.  The last eight years have been a real joy for me.  My experience here has become an important part of my own spiritual journey as I interact with the residents.”

ANNUAL SCARECROW STUFFING!

The residents had so much fun making scarecrows this year.  Every year we can't imagine having more fun but we always do!  They now look forward to carving pumpkins which we will do on October 29 and Trick-or-Treat on the 31st.

STAFF DEDICATION

Pictured below are Lois Perry, resident at CKM, and Brenda Bennett who has worked at CKM for 11 years.  Lois recently lost her fiancee, Martin Johnson who was also a resident here.  Brenda used her own time and resources to make a "memory album" for Lois.  Included were many pictures of them during their years at CKM and the presentation to Lois brought tears of thankfulness and joy.  It was an act of kindness that exemplifies how our staff considers their residents as "family."

TRIO OF FRIENDS!

Larissa Bernardo, beautician, Esther Kendra, and Zoey, travel back to Esther's room after her weekly appointment at the Beauty Shop.

MIRACLE BLOOMS!

If you looked closely at the Crabapple Trees in our front yard in September, you would have seen a few blooms that miraculously appeared!
