VALENTINE'S DAY CELEBRATION

Thursday, February 12 we crowned six Queens and Kings for Valentine's day from each wing of the Manor. The residents decorated valentine boxes two weeks earlier to put out for voting. It was a lot of fun with a little music, yummy refreshments, lots of camaraderie, and some newly appointed royalty! On Saturday, February 14 we played Valentine Jingo, our residents winning valentine candy for prizes.

VETERANS ARE HONORED DURING THE ANNUAL CHRIST THE KING MANOR VETERAN'S DAY CELEBRATION

39 Residents were recognized for their military service on November 11, 2008 during our annual Veteran's Day Celebration. This is a much anticipated event at CKM and the program consisted of prayers, readings, and a sing-a-long of patriotic songs. Every veteran who resides at Christ The King was announced and recognized for his or her service. They were presented with a personalized certificate of appreciation and a flag pin. Refreshments were served and the program was finalized with a visit from the DuBois Honor Guard with the presentation of a gun salute and playing of taps. After their formal presentation, the Guard personally greeted our guests at which time stories were shared and tears were shed. We thank them for being there and especially thank all of the country's veterans for their past and continued service to this honorable country.
